Has Oprah Embraced Porn?

A photoshopped version of what O magazine might look like if it was really pro porn. The alt-porn / New York blog circle are all celebrating Violet Blue’s upcoming article in Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine recommending good porn. Tony Comstock has got a plug, which is bound to do wonders for his sales. Tristan Taormino, Tina Tyler and Audacia Ray also get the thumbs up.

What’s surprising is that O magazine should have an article on porn at all. It was only 18 months ago that Oprah did a shock-horror show about “porn addiction” in which gospel singer Kirk Franklin was the star “victim”. Susie Bright wrote a good commentary on the whole thing here.

Given that I secretly quite admire Oprah, I’m hoping that she’s had a change of heart on this. And I think it’s great that good quality adult film producers are going to get a plug in one of the largest women’s magazines on the market.

The pic is photoshopped, of course. I thought I’d be daring and take liberties. Original is here.

PS. It made my day to see that Violet has included For The Girls in her list of good porn for women. YAY! Thanks Violet.
