This year see the tenth annual the Feminist Porn Awards ceremony on April 17. Today the list of nominees were announced and I’m pleased to say that I have five nominations this year. They are:
The Fantasy Project
This is my first feature film. It’s about a woman researching female sexual fantasies and it delves into a few taboo erotic imaginings like group sex with strangers, male slaves and MMF bisexual threesomes.

I made Instructed with Pandora Blake on the day of last year’s Feminist Porn Awards. It features Pandora reading a letter from her lover, detailing the erotic things she must do to prepare for his arrival. Pandora didn’t know what she was going to do until the cameras rolled.

Tease
Tease is about the female gaze; it’s about women looking at and admiring men, something that porn still doesn’t really address. There’s also a bit of power play. This scene was so much fun to shoot.
Ryan James: Single Handed

As always, it’s an honour to be nominated and I’m in the company of a lot of amazing filmmakers, many of whom I consider to be friends. I also want to mention that Australia has some decent representation this year – Michelle Flynn, Gala Vanting, Zahra Stardust, Morgana Muses and Anna Brownfield are all nominees. I love that our little Aussie porn posse has been so successful.

I’m not going to make it to Toronto this year due to family commitments and, while I’m kinda pleased not to be packing for yet another huge trip, I’m sad to be missing out on the community and fun that I’ve enjoyed the last two years at the awards. The Feminist Porn Conference has been delayed until next year so perhaps I’ll be back for 2016.
