Naturally the question I’m zooming in on is this one: “What have you done to spice up your sex life in the last year?” Turns out that 37% of respondents (male and female) in a long-term relationship have watched porn to put some zing back into the bedroom, slightly less than those who tried a vibrator (40%).

It’s not really news that over a third of couples use porn together, but it’s always nice to have another statistic to quote, especially when the raving religious loonies would have us believe that porn is destroying relationships willy-nilly. The fact is, watching porn is a legitimate sexual activity for a very large number of people. And not weird, raincoat-wearing perverts. We’re talking middle class, mostly married couples.

It’s a big market. What a pity most “couples” films all offer the same tired cliches and generally male point of view.

I know we get a lot of couples joining For The Girls and enjoying it together. Occasionally I get feedback saying they’re happy to have found something that both partners can enjoy, without all the offensive stuff. I like getting those emails.
