During the scene, Dragon thought about his girlfriend who was away overseas. He missed her and dedicated his scene to her.
I’ve gone for a shadowy, melancholy mood with the film, as suits the whole goth thing. I wanted to create an atmosphere of dark longing. The music seemed to really suit it, to the point that I gave it priority over Dragon’s voiceover. It’s actually an old hymn from Munster, Ireland and the lyrics are based on a 17th century Irish poem called Táim sínte ar do thuama. The song has been performed by Sinead O’Connor and Dead Can Dance. This version is a Creative Commons mix by Scomber.
I think Dragon resembles Alan Rickman a little so this film may suit your Harry Potter-based Snape / Lily fantasies.
