My friend Petra Joy has announced the launch of the 2012 Petra Joy Awards. This is a short film competition that seeks to encourage new female directors who are exploring themes of sex and sexuality in film. This year’s theme is “Female Fantasies”. Directors can submit any kind of film – erotica, animation or documentary for example – that feature female fantasies in an innovative, creative and artistic way.

The competition will be judged by Petra, legendary women’s erotica pioneer Candida Royalle and erotic magazine editor Nicole Ruediger. Petra herself is putting up the prize money of E700/E200/E100. The closing date for entries is 30th July 2012.
In 2009 I was honoured to win the first ever Petra Joy Award with my film “That’s What I Like.” I attended the award ceremony at the Berlin Porn Film Festival and had a great time drinking champagne with the other contestants.
