GayWired has a long article about bisexual male porn stars that I found interesting. I normally don’t pay much attention to gay porn stars but perhaps I should, given that they’re mostly very good looking guys. The article discusses the idea of “gay for pay” and points out that male stars in gay porn are paid a hell of a lot more than in straight porn.
They talk to gay-for-pay star Clay Maverick who has starred in over 20 gay films but considers himself straight away from the camera. As far as he’s concerned, he’s not attracted to the guys he’s fucking on film, doesn’t like kissing them and the “sex is just sex.” He says he wouldn’t appear in straight porn because:

“I’m not so sure I would want to perform with woman in front of the camera even if the money was better because, for me, sex with woman is more about intimacy and romance. I think filming it for the public would take some of that away.”
Clay’s view of what he does raises all kinds of fascinating questions about what officially qualifies as “straight” or “bi”. Is it all in the attraction or do your physical actions make a difference? Or is it simply a matter of self-labelling?
Of course, GayWired’s final sentence is probably fitting:
There is no right or wrong when it comes to sex and as the internet has proven that there is a market for everything you can think of. Labels are something that were created by society to help recognize differences in people, but as society grows, the lines are continuously blurred and there is no longer a “normal” approach to sexuality.
In any case, I’ve never been into gay porn, mainly because I felt “left out” – the sites didn’t acknowledge or speak to me in any way. But I do like bi porn and reading about these bi male stars makes me think I need to look into the topic a bit more. Perhaps I should finally give in and include a few gay sites in the linklist – but gay sites that I think women would enjoy, of course.
