Today was a good day, one full of hope for the future. Today the Australian parliament said sorry to the Aboriginal people for past injustices, particularly for the forced removal of “half caste” children from their parents throughout the 20th century.<\/p>\n
I’m so glad it finally happened. And there was something really positive and special about the whole thing. It felt like the majority of people were behind it this time, uniting in a desire to move forward and be good<\/em> to each other.<\/p>\n I’ve lived in a political wasteland for so long, it’s still surprising to see this.
