\"BritneyI’ve read the various newspaper reports about Britney Spears’ comeback performance at the MTV awards. This article<\/a> says her appearance was a flop and lots seem to agree.<\/p>\n

I’m no fan of Britney’s music and she has been completely whacko lately, so I’m normally immune to caring about her. The photos of her in that black spangled bikini, however, got my attention.<\/p>\n

It was her belly, you see. No longer whippet-thin or spouting a six-pack, Britney’s tummy is a testimony to the fact that she’s had two kids. She may have lost the fat, but there’s no getting around the fact that Britney definitely has a baby belly.<\/p>\n

My first reaction was to condemn her for wearing such a skimpy costume. Hipster bikini undies don’t exactly flatter her new shape. And then I thought… well, why the hell not? Don’t the young girls of today deserve to see what happens to your body after you have kids?<\/p>\n

The critics are panning her for a lot of things including her inability to mime, her lack of energy on stage and her lack of credibility. Fair enough. But someone suggested she was “too heavy” and I thought that was a bit much.<\/p>\n

I think she needs to forget the sex kitten schtick and try belly dancing. She’d look great in a hip belt and bra with spangles and the belly would jiggle perfectly.<\/p>\n
