Back in 2004 I started an AVS site called Pure Cunnilingus<\/a>. I did this because at that time there were NO adult sites that focused only on male-female cunnilingus scenes. Muff diving was the sex act that porn loved to ignore. Pussy licking was only for “lesbian” videos. Even “couples” porn didn’t spend much time on it.<\/p>\n So I compiled all the photos I had showing guys going down on women and later added videos. I also wrote up some erotic fiction and a bunch of articles about the act, including a list of mainstream films that had featured it. The list wasn’t long, though I’ve added to it over the years.<\/p>\n Hollywood and cunnilingus is in the news right now because actress Evan Rachel Wood has publicly tweeted<\/a> about the US ratings body’s assessment of a cunnilingus scene she performs with Shia LeBouf in the film Charlie Countryman. I’m just going to quote her tweets:<\/p>\n “After seeing the new cut of #CharlieCountryman I would like 2 share my disappointment with the MPAA, who thought it was necessary to censor a woman’s sexuality once again. The scene where the two main characters make ‘love’ was altered because someone felt that seeing a man give a woman oral sex made people ‘uncomfortable’ but the scenes in which people are murdered by having their heads blown off remained intact and unaltered.<\/p>\n “This is a symptom of a society that wants to shame women and put them down for enjoying sex, especially when (gasp) the man isn’t getting off as well! It’s hard for me to believe that had the roles been reversed it still would have been cut. OR had the female character been raped it would have been cut. It’s time for people to GROW UP.<\/p>\n “Accept that woman are sexual beings \u2026 Accept that some men like pleasuring women. Accept that women don’t have to just be fucked and say thank you. We are allowed and entitled to enjoy ourselves. It’s time we put our foot down \u2026”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n In the article Why is Hollywood so afraid of oral sex?<\/a> Clem Bastow points out that this criticism was also made by Ryan Gosling about the film Blue Valentine, which got an NC17 rating because of a cunnilingus scene.<\/p>\n \u201cThe MPAA is okay supporting scenes that portray women in scenarios of sexual torture and violence for entertainment purposes, but they are trying to force us to look away from a scene that shows a woman in a sexual scenario, which is both complicit and complex. It’s misogynistic in nature to try and control a woman’s sexual presentation of self.\u201d – Ryan Gosling<\/p><\/blockquote>\n It’s great that this criticism is being made and I can only hope attitudes change. Certainly things aren’t changing in the porn industry; today the AVN nominations came out and, as per usual, every movie in the “Oral” category is about blowjobs. Cunnilingus still doesn’t get a look in.
