Just by using that title, they’ve got the attention of a plethora of newspaper columnists, bloggers and feminists. I keep finding articles about it, frenzied discussions, outraged rants and cosy recommendations.<\/p>\n

Nice free advertising. Nice way to get to the top of Google.<\/p>\n

Nice way to make sales.<\/p>\n

There’s another article today, this time in the Sydney Morning Herald’s Ask Sam<\/a> blog.<\/p>\n

I thought I’d link to it because this particular piece positively glows with amusement at the book’s premise. Admittedly, the Ask Sam blog is something that would be more at home in Cosmopolitan, what with all the shoes, shopping and don’t-date-him-girl advice, but it offers another viewpoint if you’re interested. I suspect the comments will make for the most interesting reading. Yes, I’ve posted there already.<\/p>\n

PS. I’ve just read the 12 customer reviews at Amazon for this book – and the argument is going on there as well.<\/p>\n

Perhaps we should be asking another question alongside “Does this book perpetuate stereotypes” and “What IS porn for women?” <\/p>\n

Perhaps we need to be asking “Does feminism have a sense of humour?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is this book funny or insulting? Maybe it’s both.<\/p>\n

Update 14th June: Wow. There’s currently 216 comments on the Ask Sam blog and very few of them are following the standard arguments I’ve seen elsewhere. Mostly it seems to be a lot of whining about who does the housework – and some nasty comments by men complaining that they take out the garbage and that “women want everything.” Very few of the female commenters seem to enjoy porn.
