\"BabyThe BBC<\/a> tells me that scientists are working on some kind of superpill that, get this, not only boosts a woman’s libido, but also reduces her appetite.<\/p>\n

The sensible feminist part of me frowns at this, thinking that it’s yet another attempt to pharmacologically mould women into something they’re not.<\/p>\n

The evil capitalist part of me wants to buy in on this research because it’s bound to make billions if successful.<\/p>\n

The stupid, girly, Bridget Jones part of me finds the whole idea thrilling. I mean, a pill to make you thin AND horny at the same time… just make it soluble in chardonnay and I’m there.<\/p>\n

The humorist blogger part of me just thinks it’s funny, partly because the drug is made from a hormone called “Gonadotrophin” (snigger, snigger), but mainly because of the report on what happened when they tested this drug on monkeys and shrews.<\/p>\n

When it was given to monkeys, they displayed mating behaviour such as tongue-flicking and eyebrow-raising to the males, while female shrews displayed their feelings via “rump presentation and tail wagging”.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Can’t you just see a female monkey, raising her eyebrows to that sexy bloke across the branch as if to say “How about it, big boy?”<\/p>\n

Or a lady shrew putting it about like one of the women in the Baby Got Back video? This anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hon.<\/em><\/p>\n
