The first release from Candida Royalle’s new Femme Chocolat line of erotic films is Afrodite Superstar, which looks due for release sometime in April. The film stars newcomer Simone Valentine and was directed by Venus Hottentot. The producer is Natasha Cortes. I think Candida’s role was as executive producer on this film.<\/p>\n

New School University in New York is conducting a preview screening of the film on March 20. Candida Royalle and the film’s creators will answer questions afterwards.<\/p>\n
While I welcome any new film for women, the film doesn’t really look like my bag, baby. This is due to the fact that it’s being called an “adult hip hop film”. Fact is, I just don’t like hip hop. It’s not something I appreciate or enjoy. If I hear rap or hip hop on the TV or radio, I turn it off. <\/p>\n
(Yes, I’m a whitie, and I suspect that Dave Chappelle’s theories on white people and guitar rock are entirely correct.)<\/p>\n
Then again, part of why I’m not into hip hop is that the lyrics are so awful and often misogynistic. I suspect that any lyrics performed by Simone Valentine in a porn movie may be somewhat different.<\/p>\n
I’m sure the film will be great, and much welcomed by female porn fans. <\/p>\n
By the way, I entirely forgot to blog about the fact that Under The Covers<\/a> was released on February 6. Candida’s site<\/a> says the launch party was a big success.<\/p>\n
