In the past, Ewan has worked tirelessly throughout his entire career to ensure that he appears nude at some point in his films. It’s been something of a mission for him:<\/p>\n

“There was this trend in the ’80s of gratuitous sex scenes where women were always naked and men never were. So I just thought I was doing it for the sisters.” (Source<\/a>)<\/p>\n

and:<\/p>\n

“I’m doing my bit for the women’s movement. The women have always been naked in movies and now I’m just desperate to take my clothes off as much as possible.” (Source<\/a>)<\/p>\n

And again:<\/p>\n

“It’s a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We’re happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody’s naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing.” (Source<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Sure, it wasn’t so successful with the Star Wars prequels, but you can’t win em all. He did actually say in 1999: “I’d love to do it. But only if I can get away with it.”<\/p>\n

According to this article<\/a>, he also tried to get nude in the new Beatrix Potter movie, Miss Potter<\/em>. Apparently the movie bosses said: “Its nice Ewan, but we don’t think it quite works with this movie.”<\/p>\n

Perhaps stranger is the story of animation experiments involving Ewan’s penis and the head of Peter Rabbit. Given that the story has originated at a Hollywood gossip blog, it may not be entirely factual.<\/p>\n

But it’s pretty fun to imagine.<\/p>\n

Now I’ve just read some distressing news. A number of celebrity blogs have reported that he might not get nude in future films, because he feels he’s getting too old.<\/p>\n

This site<\/a> quotes him as saying: “I shave my chest because having it hairy makes me look older. I might protect people from the sight of my old flesh in future films.”<\/p>\n

I feel the need to speak up and say: I don’t care! Keep it off, Ewan! You’re fabulous!<\/p>\n
