Thanks to Crikey.com<\/a> for publishing this story that reveals Saddam Hussein’s gruesome hanging video would have got an R rating in Australia, whereas sexually explicit movies “without artistic merit” get an X rating and bans.<\/p>\n

The Eros Association decries the whole situation as ridiculous, especially in light of their failed attempt to have Viva Erotica passed as an R rated film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The CRB is basically saying to the Australian public that the film of Saddam\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s execution cannot be said to “cause offence to a reasonable adult” while Viva Erotica<\/em> can. This determination is so far from the reality of what Australian public opinion is on these issues that the federal Attorney-General needs to urgently intervene and conduct an enquiry.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
