On top of that, Helen O’Connell’s research has proven that the clit is fucking huge… and most likely accounts for a large amount of vaginal sensation.

What Arndt seems to be trying to do is make “clitoral” women feel guilty. Which is just stupid and unnecessary.

If you’re one of those women who can get off from penetration alone, good for you. According to the lingering myths about how sex should be, you’re “normal.” The majority of heterosexual sexual acts still focus on penile penetration as the main goal, so you girls have hit the jackpot.

Now, if society could just stop teaching the other 70% that there’s something wrong with them, we’d all be much happier.

If I sound a little adamant on this topic, it’s because I’ve seen the same worried question asked of sex advice columns (including ours) over and over: “I can only come via manual stimulation or a vibrator, what’s wrong with me?”

As far as I’m concerned, we haven’t had nearly enough “clitoromania.”

Now… go and read Betty Dodson’s take on the vagina vs clitoris thing. She was one of the original, 70s feminists, and I believe the women of today owe her a great deal.

Australian patron of anti-feminist backlash sentiments, Bettina Arndt, has written an opinion piece berating all those nasty 70s feminists, particularly Shere Hite, for “oppressing” women who have orgasms via intercourse.
