I haven’t got a lot of work done this morning because I watched the Steve Irwin memorial. Despite my best cynical efforts, I was laughing and tearing up at all the appointed moments.<\/p>\n
I’ve also been treated to the amusing spectacle of the Blue Wiggle trying not to laugh or shit himself while holding a crocodile and reading the autocue.<\/p>\n
This is our second televised celebrity funeral in as many days. There’s something not-quite-right about it. It feels as though a funeral shouldn’t have to be stage-managed or professional, nor should it take up three television networks.<\/p>\n
