The AVN awards for 2008 have been announced and, disappointingly, Candida Royalle’s Afrodite Superstar only received one award, for Best Music, despite receiving a large number of nominations.
It’s a real shame that so few other female-friendly films got up, especially considering the huge number of movies that were nominated this year – I made a full list here.

I guess it’s not surprising, but given that there were so many good titles for women available, it would have been nice to see some recognition from the mainstream industry.
